Microsoft Rolling Out Android Apps Supports Via Amazon App Store

Microsoft is now rolling out some handful features to Windows 11 users among which includes a new weather taskbar widget, clock/date support on multiple monitors, and a bunch of Edge upgrades according to report.

The most important update is Windows 11 Android apps support. This is possible through a partnership with Amazon that brings a limited selection of Android apps to Windows through the Amazon AppStore.

Initially, the update was available for Beta Channel users in the United States on eligible devices running Intel, AMD, and Qualcomm processors. it was been rolled out to insiders, and now available all in the US.

How to Get Android App Support on Windows 11

1. First of all, update your Windows to this latest version by Head to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and install the option update you’ll find there (KB5010414). You’ll need to restart after installing.

2. Once you’re on the newest version of Windows 11, you need to then update the Microsoft Store. Open the Store app and, in the left-hand column, hit “Library.” In there, hit the “Get Updates” button in the upper right. That will update all your installed apps, including the Store itself.

3. You should find a promotional banner on the first page of the Microsoft Store that talks about Windows 11 Android apps. It will discuss the Amazon AppStore and give you instructions on what to do.

Microsoft said running Android apps and games on Windows 11 will feel “familiar, effortless, and integrated”.

Expect some bugs though, until Microsoft can send out some fixes.

If you want to give it a try before that, you can set your region to the United States under the Settings app.
